Ikra Gunay 03/13/2013 Mrs. Parsons Act I Essay Death of a Salesman In ââ¬Å"Death of a Salesmanâ⬠by Arthur Miller, in the Act I, the author emphasizes the relationship between Willy and Linda in different ways by showing the love of Linda towards Willy and how she admires him. And also, she always shows her patient when Willy gets angry easily. The relationship between Willy and Biff is different from the past. Willyââ¬â¢s relationship with Biff is complicated. Biff is everything for Willy and Biff believed that Willy is the greatest father in the world, but in the present Biff doesnââ¬â¢t think like that anymore. The relationship between Willy and Linda is very special because they love each other. Linda admires him andâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦She always tries to keeps everything on its way. But the problem is that Willy is acting angrily and he loses his control easily. This is shown when he saw her stockings ââ¬Å"I wonââ¬â¢t have you mending stockings in this house! Now throw them out!â⬠Then she puts her stockings in her pocket. This also shows how Linda climbs down and how she makes it positively. The relationship between Willy and Biff is complicated. Actually, Biff is everything for Willy. He doesnââ¬â¢t do well as a salesman anymore, so this situation makes him depressed but at least there is Biff. So Willy believes that Biff will reach the success and his dreams will become true. That makes him want Biff to take some responsibility, in other words this is a big pressure on Biff. ââ¬Å"How can he find himself on a farm? Is that a life? A farmhand? In the beginning, when he was young, I thought, well, a young man, itââ¬â¢s good for him to tramp around, take a lot of different jobs. But itââ¬â¢s more than ten years now and he has yet to make thirty-five dollars a week!â⬠says Willy and then Linda says ââ¬Å"He is finding himself Willy.â⬠Then Willy answers again ââ¬Å"Not finding yourself at the age of thirty-four is a disgrace!â⬠This shows how Willy mad at him because he thinks they couldnââ¬â¢t reach their dreams because of Biff.
